Sous Chef Anongrat Meklai, known to everyone as Chef Piak, has been with us for more than twenty years and is in charge of Black Ginger’s kitchen as well as the Thai cooking class in Moo’s Kitchen. A quick chat reveals the passion she has for her art and the cuisine that she takes pride in preparing.
Diners can look-forward to her Som Tam, Tom Yum and Panang Curry, along with other unique Thai dishes that are waiting to be discovered. Sample rare southern delicacies such as crispy fried shrimp and battered cha-plu leaves drizzled with sweet chilli sauce, “roll your own” spring rolls served with juicy crab and tender pork, chilli purée, coriander and fresh vegetables with sweet tamarind sauce wrapped in a rice-flour pancake, or Southern Style Yellow fish Curry and an assortment of local vegetables.
Using only the freshest locally-sourced ingredients, and even some from our very own organic garden, the second-to-none dishes make for a truly unforgettable journey through Phuket’s and indeed Thailand’s culinary past.
