Our Location

The Slate rests on Phuket’s quiet northern shore, a short drive from the airport and within easy reach of historical Phuket Town.

Bordering a National Park, Nai Yang beach’s white coral sands and azure waters are protected by a sheltering offshore reef.

Weather in Phuket

Phuket features a tropical monsoon climate. Due to its proximity to the equator, in the course of the year, there is little variation in temperatures. The Island has an average annual high of 32 °C (90 °F) and an annual low of 25 °C (77 °F). Phuket has a dry season that runs from December through March and a wet season that covers the other eight months. However, like many cities that feature a tropical monsoon climate, Phuket sees some precipitation even during its dry season. Phuket averages roughly 2,200 millimeters (87 in) of rain.

Passport and Visas

With evidence of onward/return travel, citizens of New Zealand, Australia, Canada, the USA, and most European nations may enter Thailand for up to 30 days without a Thai visa. These Thailand visa waivers are issued upon arrival in Thailand. For other countries, tourist visas can be obtained at the airport on arrival (please check before travelling). You will require a valid passport and a return ticket in order to be issued with a visa. For more information on visa requirements, see www.thaiembassy.com/thailandvisas

Money

The Thai currency is the Thai Baht. Bank notes are easy to distinguish because they are clearly marked and color-coded: green (20 baht), blue (50 baht), red (100 baht), purple (500 baht) and grey (1000 baht). The current exchange rate is roughly 1000 baht = US$30. Banking hours are usually Monday to Friday 9.30am to 3.30pm & ATMs are plentiful across the island, with the nearest one just outside our beach entrance.

The electric current in Thailand is 220 Volt AC (50 cycles) throughout the country and uses flat or round two-pin plugs without an earth.
