Local Attractions

Phuket has a fantastic array of attractions. From natural to prenatural, from land-based to water activities, there’s always something to see and do on Phuket Island.

Morning Monks

One of the most interesting cultural activities that one can experience on any Thai island is visiting a local temple at sunrise and experience the morning ritual of the locals and temple’s resident Monks. Monks are the most important people in Thai society and treated with utmost respect at all times.

* All prices are in Thai Baht and inclusive of 17% tax and service charge.

Join us at sunrise as we take a short trip to our local Nai Yang temple and encounter monks making their morning rounds for offering of food. We will go prepared with our own flowers and water offerings. We will enter Nai Yang’s small yet historical 200 year old temple, where you will be able to throw the magical wishing “Tuew” stones, shake your own “Siamese” fortune stick and light your very own “Joss” wishing stick and candle, making it a perfect spiritual start to the day.

Duration: 6:30 to 7:30

Weekend Market and Phuket Town

Naka weekend market is Phuket’s largest market and famous for its variety of products. Traditional foods and good prices!

Like all markets as Thais say ” Ta Dee Dai Ta Rai Sea” (Good gain, good things), which basically means the quality of products vary, but look around and you can get some good quality items at the right price.

We leave The Slate and drive 45 min to arrive at Naka Market. You will have two hours to explore the market at your leisure. Our The Slate staff will be there to assist you as required. After your shopping adventure is complete, we head back to the The Slate, taking a slight detour discovering Phuket Old Town by Night.

Included: Transport and water (guests should bring camera and shopping mood).

Availability: Saturdays & Sundays
Participants: Minimum 3, Maximum 8
Duration 17:30 to 21:30

* All prices are in Thai Baht and inclusive of 17% tax and service charge.
