Phuket’s Legendary Sunday Brunch is Back… with Bubbly




Leading luxury resort Indigo Pearl is proud to announce the return of its renowned Sunday brunch, an exclusive and intimate affair now back better than ever and starring one of the world’s great champagnes, Delamotte as well as fine wines and sumptuous surf and turf delights from 12 noon starting from November.

The legendary French bubbly will flow as freely as the good times, great conversation and sophisticated brunch fare at the Delamotte Champagne Brunch, a continuation of a Sunday brunch concept conceived in 2008 and now one of the most celebrated events of its kind on the island.

It will be a case of the Old World and the New World being intertwined with maximum effect – the former represented by Champagne Delamotte, one of the great Champagne houses located in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, with all grapes sourced from the Grand Crus of the Cote des Blancs, and the latter represented by a fine selection of New World wines.

In tropical paradise style, leading guests to an experience where superb culinary creations, brunch classics and libations will tantalise. A live band will serve as the perfect accompaniment to five unforgettable hours of grazing, lazing and being amazed by the quality of the free-flow bubbly.

A triumvirate of special venues will be used to stage the buffet brunch, which will include Japanese, BBQ and Thai stations. At Rebar guests will enjoy superb culinary creations like the freshest, juiciest lobster, foie terrine with duck confit, Wagyu beef rump and, for dessert, banana walnut cake, as lounge music enhances the chilled vibe of a resort boasting a serene absolute beachside and national park setting.

Rivet, the embodiment of Indigo Pearl’s industrial chic aesthetic, will serve five-star specialties such as bruschetta with a selection of grilled vegetables and sour dour bread, the freshest poached blue swimmer crabs and sweet water prawns, and chocolate dacquoise.

Rounding out the brunch stations is Underground Café, a laidback poolside experience and the place where gastronomic highlights like grilled vegetable antipasto, smoked calamari with lemon and raspberry, and mascarpone mousse will be savoured.

Indigo Pearl’s new General Manager, Paul Jordaan, said he was excited to take the reins just as the Brunch ‘season’ was getting underway again and delighted to be introducing Champagne Delamotte to guests and Phuket regulars.

Established in 1760 in the prestigious village of Le Mesnil, Champagne Delamotte is one of the world’s most celebrated champagne houses. It is best known for the elegant Delamotte Brut NV and Delamotte Blanc de Blancs Brut, a delicate and strawberry-scented rosé. Both drops are tantalisingly rich yet delicate.

Champagne Delamotte brut imposesa style with its dominating majority of Grand Cru Chardonnay. Each grape plays its fundamental role, as Chardonnay sets the wine in place with its foundation and roots, a small portion of Pinot Noir helps give the wine more width and fruit, and a smaller portion of Pinot Meunier, a less acidic grape, brings its aromatic charm to produce a brut that does not rely on reserve wines for character but finds personality at its roots.
