Jurassic World: Rebirth Global Press Trip
On 31 July 2025, Black Ginger at The Slate had the honour of hosting an exclusive dinner as part of the Jurassic World: Rebirth Global Press Trip.
Organised by Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, this prestigious media event brought together 30 international press and film industry representatives to spotlight Thailand as a world-class filming destination — and the breathtaking backdrop for the highly anticipated film, Jurassic World: Rebirth.
Filming for Jurassic World: Rebirth took place across several of Thailand’s most iconic and visually striking locations, including:
- Bangkok, offering a dynamic urban contrast with its modern skyline and historic temples
- Phang Nga Bay, known for its dramatic limestone cliffs and emerald waters
- The lush rainforests and hidden beaches of Krabi
- The culturally rich province of Trang
These diverse landscapes played a key role in creating the prehistoric, otherworldly setting of the film — highlighting Thailand’s versatility as a film destination and reinforcing its appeal to global filmmakers.

Set amidst The Slate’s ethereal and imaginative surroundings, Black Ginger offered a truly dramatic setting for the evening. Known for its exquisite Thai cuisine, artisanal craftsmanship, and unique floating raft entrance, the restaurant delivered an unforgettable experience. Guests were treated to a specially curated menu served within Black Ginger’s striking architecture — a bold fusion of Thai heritage and contemporary design, perfectly capturing the cinematic spirit of Thailand.
The dinner was a standout highlight of the global media itinerary, celebrating both the film’s connection to Thailand and the country's rising prominence in international film production. As the global trend of “set-jetting” — travel inspired by film and television — continues to grow, this initiative provided immediate digital exposure and reignited global interest in southern Thailand’s cinematic landscapes.
